Monica Diaconu is one of the co-founders of the Școala Babel project, together with other parents and teachers from Timișoara who, since 2016, have formed the Parents in Dialogue Association. She believes in the power of dialogue, stories, and a greater purpose as essential ingredients of a community that can transform children’s school experience.

Since 2001, she has been at the heart of learning—as an English and Dutch teacher, primary school teacher, homeroom teacher, trainer and mentor for teachers, and learning facilitator for parents. She believes that learning can become the most enjoyable activity for people of all ages when it is authentic, profound, and shared with others.

For this reason, she wishes to see “Learning in Power”—the motto under which the Școala Babel community in Timișoara has gathered—embraced in as many places as possible.
